The Arizona Diamondbacks officially placed SP Jason Marquis (leg) on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right fibula Tuesday, Aug. 16, and also designated P Kevin Mulvey for assignment. In a corresponding move, the team recalled SP Wade Miley from Triple-A Reno.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to terms on one-year contracts with Ps Josh Collmenter, Sam Demel, Barry Enright, Juan Gutierrez, David Hernandez, Dan Hudson, Juan Jaime, Zach Kroenke, Kam Mickolio, Kevin Mulvey, Jordan Norberto, Yonata Ortega, Joseph Paterson, Rafael Rodriguez, Carlos Rosa, Leyson Septimo, Daniel Stange, Brian Sweeney and Esmerling Vasquez, Cs John Hester and Konrad Schmidt, IFs Tony Abreu, Brandon Allen and Ryan Roberts and OF Cole Gillespie and Gerardo Parra, according to a team press release. All players on the 40-man roster are now under contract for the 2011 season.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Kevin Mulvey (elbow) almost has complete extension of his elbow back after undergoing surgery to have bone chips removed from his elbow last year, according to The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro. "That's your release point," Mulvey said. "If you're releasing the ball at 100 percent as opposed to 75 percent, if you're out here in front and get full extension, that's a little different. You'll probably get a little bit more velocity, a little bit more movement. But I'm not saying I'm all of a sudden going to be throwing 100 mph. Hopefully, I can get a little bit more extension and pitch better."

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Kevin Mulvey (elbow) reportedly underwent surgery in September of last year to have bone chips removed from his elbow, according to The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro. Mulvey is expected to be ready in time for Spring Training.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Kevin Mulvey is available to pitch out of the bullpen this weekend, according to MLB.com's Steve Gilbert. Mulvey could still be able to make the start Monday, May 3. Ps Cesar Valdez, Billy Buckner and Bryan Augenstein are all options for the Monday start.
