Cleveland Indians OF Shelley Duncan went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs against the Minnesota Twins Saturday, Sept. 24, in the first game of a doubleheader. In the second game, he went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Duncan leads the team with six home runs and 20 RBIs during the month of September.

Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander won his 10th straight start and 22nd on the season by defeating the Cleveland Indians Wednesday, Sept. 7. He gave up two two-run homers to OF Shelley Duncan along the way. Verlander allowed four runs and three hits in six innings while fanning eight. He leads the majors in wins and is 20-2 since May 1. He also becomes the first pitcher in team history to win 10 straight decisions since Jack Morris did it in 1983. Verlander's 22 wins are the most for a Tigers pitcher since Joe Coleman won 23 in 1973. He has thrown at least six innings and 100 pitches in all 31 of his starts this year.
