The Pittsburgh Pirates have reinstated RP Joel Hanrahan from the bereavement list. In a corresponding move, the team placed RP Daniel McCutchen (oblique) on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have optioned Ps Brad Lincoln and Daniel McCutchen to Triple-A Indianapolis. General manager Neal Huntington said Lincoln would serve as a starter in the minors, while McCutchen will remain stretched out by pitching multiple innings in his relief appearances.

OFs Gorkys Hernandez, Starling Marte, Andrew McCutchen and Alex Presley, INFs Chase d'Arnaud, Matt Hague, Josh Harrison, Jordy Mercer, Yamaico Navarro, Gustavo Nunez and Neil Walker, C Mike McKenry and Ps Jared Hughes, Chris Leroux, Brad Lincoln, Jeff Locke, Daniel McCutchen, James McDonald, Kyle McPherson, Bryan Morris, Daniel Moskos, Rudy Owens, Tony Watson, Duke Welker and Justin Wilson agreed to terms Saturday, March 3.

Pittsburgh Pirates RPs Daniel McCutchen and Tim Wood are not available to pitch Wednesday, June 22. Manager Clint Hurdle said he wanted to give McCutchen an extra day of rest and Wood pitched three straight days.
