The Texas Rangers assigned Ps Matt West and Wilmer Font to Single-A Myrtle Beach Thursday, March 15. Ps Kelvin De La Cruz and Fabio Castillo were also sent to minor league camp. De La Cruz was sent to Double-A Frisco.

The Texas Rangers signed SP Neftali Feliz, SP Derek Holland, RP Alexi Ogando, SP Martin Perez, OF Engel Beltre, OF Julio Borbon, P Michael Kirkman, P Jake Brigham, P Miguel De Los Santos, P Wilmer Font, P Roman Mendez and P Justin Miller to one-year deals. Holland will make $504,700. Feliz will make $502,000. All others are under $500,000.

Texas Rangers P Wilmer Font (elbow) threw 20 pitches in a bullpen session Tuesday, Feb. 21. Font missed all of last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. "I'm just happy to be pitching," Font said. "It was difficult, but I learned a lot of things while I was out. I learned how to pitch and I learned how to build up my body. My goal is still to pitch in the big leagues."

The Texas Rangers will have their young, upper-level pitchers come to Arlington from Jan. 17-20 for a pitching mini-camp, as it returns from a one-year hiatus. Special assistant Greg Maddux will also be in attendance, as will the team's coaching staff, including manager Ron Washington and pitching coach Mike Maddux. SP Neftali Feliz and RP Alexi Ogando highlight the list of pitchers, which also include SP Jake Brigham, P Miguel De Los Santos, P Wilmer Font, P Justin Grimm, RP Mark Hamburger, P Michael Kirkman, P Roman Mendez, RP Justin Miller, SP Martin Perez, SP Neil Ramirez, P Robbie Ross, RP Tanner Scheppers and P Matt West.

The Texas Rangers acquired RP Mike Gonzalez from the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday, Aug. 31, in exchange for a player to be named. Also, Texas landed C Matt Treanor from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations. In corresponding moves, the team moved P Wilmer Font (undisclosed) to the 60-day disabled list and designated P Tim Wood for assignment.

The Texas Rangers have optioned P Zach Phillips to Triple-A Round Rock, according to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com. P Fabio Castillo and OF Engel Beltre have been optioned to Double-A Frisco, while P Wilmer Font has been optioned to Class A Myrtle Beach.

The Texas Rangers signed SP Tommy Hunter, SP Matt Harrison, P Wilmer Font, RP Fabio Castillo, 1B Chris Davis, 1B Mitch Moreland and C Taylor Teagarden to one-year deals Tuesday, Feb. 22, according to The Sports Network. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Texas Rangers P Wilmer Font (knee), who was added to the 40-man roster in November, is in camp but still recovering from reconstructive elbow surgery Oct. 1, reports T.R. Sullivan, of MLB.com. Font remains sidelined and it is uncertain when he'll be ready for game action.
