Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers DL Menson Holloway will need to undergo surgery on his shoulder, foot and ankle during the off-season. S Lance Schulters will have an MRI on his shoulder, which has been a problem on and off all year, and then decide if he needs to undergo surgery.

As expected, the Contra Costa Times' Cam Inman reports the San Francisco 49ers have signed rookie DE Menson Holloway from the practice squad to the active roster. He was brought up to help replace DE Chike Okeafor, who fractured his right fibula Saturday.

Cam Inman reports for the Contra Costa Times, as an update to previous stories, San Francisco 49ers coach Steve Mariucci said the team would look to sign a free agent defensive lineman to replace Chike Okeafor (fractured fibula). "We at least need another body to practice with a full squad," Mariucci said. Rookie DE Menson Holloway may also be signed from the practice squad. LB Jeff Ulbrich (ankle) and DE Bobby Setzer (concussion) are expected to practice Wednesday when the team returns to practice.
