Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports the San Francisco 49ers enter the off-season with four starters eligible for unrestricted free agency. RB Garrison Hearst, FB Fred Beasley, C Jeremy Newberry and S Lance Schulters -- all starters -- are all able to depart. QB Rick Mirer, OT Matt Willig, LB Terry Killens, DE Troy Wilson and CB Tyrone Drakeford are also unrestricted free agents. DE Chike Okeafor, FB Terry Jackson and C Ben Lynch are restricted free agents. Exclusive-rights free agents are: PK Jose Cortez, KR/PR Vinny Sutherland, TE Justin Swift, RB Jonas Lewis, S Ronnie Heard and DT Bobby Setzer.

49ers.com reports when asked about his injured DEs today, DE Chike Okeafor (broken bone in leg) and John Engelberger (ankle), coach Steve Mariucci replied, “Chike and John will both be game-day decisions." "And we’ll let you know tomorrow who the starter will be." If those two can't start, Troy Wilson is expected to start in what would be his first game of the season.

49ers.com reports the team placed DE Menson Holloway (shoulder) on injured reserve. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on his shoulder that could keep him out of action for up to three months. They signed free agent DE Troy Wilson to take his roster spot.

Matt Maiocco reports for the Press Democrat San Francisco 49ers starting LG Ray Brown (left elbow) worked for about half of Thursday's practice. DE Troy Wilson worked out for the team Thursday. He has been with seven teams in his six-year career.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Chicago Bears DE Phillip Daniels (high ankle sprain) will miss the final two games of the year and is likely to be replaced by Van Tuinei. Troy Wilson may also see increased playing time on the defensive line. FB Curtis Enis (reaction to over-the-counter medicine) felt better on Monday but his status remains up in the air for this weekend's game. CB Walt Harris (knee) was able to work out on Monday but his status is also unknown for this weekend's game. Harris has missed the past two games.
