St. Louis Cardinals OF Oscar Taveras is not in the starting lineup Friday, Aug. 15, against the San Diego Padres. OF Shane Robinson is starting in right field and batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Taveras had an off-day yesterday, too. Like most young hitters, Taveras has struggled to adjust to pitching at the highest level. His upside makes him worth a roster spot in the majority of leagues, but he might not see more than semi-regular at-bats.

Cardinals | Randal Grichuk skipped for promotion

St. Louis Cardinals minor-league OF Randal Grichuk was skipped for promotion in favor of OF Shane Robinson because manager Mike Matheny said Friday, Aug. 1, that Grichuk needs to "keep playing" regularly.

The St. Louis Cardinals have placed 2B Kolten Wong (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list because of shoulder soreness. The team also recalled OF Shane Robinson from Triple-A Memphis.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ellis likely will receive most of the time at second base while Wong is out, but probably is only an option in NL-only leagues.
