Angels | C.J. Cron sitting Tuesday

Tue, 24 May 2016 13:02:13 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B C.J. Cron is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 24. OF Mike Trout is serving as the designated hitter, while OF Shane Robinson gets the start in center field and is hitting ninth against Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez.

Fantasy Tip: This allows the Angels to give Trout's tender ankle a rest. As long as he's in the lineup he should be employed everywhere in seasonal leagues. Robinson has next to no fantasy value at the bottom of the order, and he has three hits in 16 at-bats (.188) for the Halos with a career .236 average in the majors. Avoid him.

Angels | Kole Calhoun with day off

Mon, 23 May 2016 13:00:17 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Kole Calhoun is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 23. OF Shane Robinson draws into left field and is batting ninth against Texas Rangers SP Derek Holland.

Fantasy Tip: It's Calhoun's first day off of the season. Even though Holland has been struggling mightily, Robinson should be avoided everywhere. He has a .237 career average with only five home runs in seven seasons in the big leagues.

Angels | Brendan Ryan, Shane Robinson starting

Wed, 11 May 2016 15:30:11 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SS Brendan Ryan and OF Shane Robinson are both in the starting lineup against St. Louis Cardinals SP Jaime Garcia Wednesday, May 11. Ryan is starting at the 6 and is hitting ninth, while Robinson is in left field and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan is making his first start after he was traded to the Angels yesterday. He's likely to split time at shortstop with Cliff Pennington, and both light-hitting middle infielders are strictly depth options in deep AL-only leagues. Robinson has a career .239 average and only five career home runs. Avoid him in DFS tonight.

Angels | Craig Gentry on the DL

Mon, 02 May 2016 10:14:02 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Craig Gentry (back) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, May 1, with a right lumbar spine strain. OF Shane Robinson was called up from the minors in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is expected to share time in left field with Rafael Ortega with Gentry sidelined. The 5-9 outfielder has only five career home runs in seven years in the majors and won't offer fantasy owners much even with his new opportunity. Save him for the most cavernous AL-only leagues if you're hurting for a warm body.

Angels | Three Angels not in the lineup

Sun, 01 May 2016 11:13:13 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Rafael Ortega, C Carlos Perez and 2B Johnny Giavotella are not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers SP Cole Hamels Sunday, May 1. C Geovany Soto will start at catcher and is batting sixth in the lineup. OF Shane Robinson will start in left field and is batting eighth, while SS Cliff Pennington will start at second base and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Soto has at least one hit in six of his last seven starts and has six RBI during that span. Soto could be used in two-catcher leagues. Owners should avoid using Pennington and Robinson for the time being.

Brewers | Domingo Santana sitting vs. St. Louis

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 15:56:40 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana is not in the starting lineup Friday, Sept. 25. OF Shane Robinson draws into the lineup and is batting fifth against St. Louis Cardinals SP Carlos Martinez Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Santana ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has six home runs and a .505 slugging percentage over 30 games since joining the Brewers. The outfield packs punch and is worth a roster spot in the majority of seasonal leagues, but he is especially intriguing in keeper/dynasty formats. Robinson ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is nothing more than a flier at FantasyScore Friday.

Twins | Shane Robinson may return Monday

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 22:43:22 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Shane Robinson missed the weekend series with the Chicago White Sox to spend time with his wife and infant daughter, who was born with a condition in which the esophagus is not connected normally to the stomach. Robinson may be back Monday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) warmed up over the summer, so he should see some action down the stretch and especially if the Twins rest some of their regulars. Keep an eye on his matchups.

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 08:36:50 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is out of the lineup Thursday, Sept. 3, with OF Shane Robinson hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Sugar Shane ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) isn't much of an option against Jeff Samardzija on FantasyScore.

Twins | Torii Hunter out of the lineup

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 09:06:26 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is not in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Sunday, Aug. 30. OF Shane Robinson will start in left field and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Hunter ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) should return to the lineup in the next game or two. Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .306 with three RBI this month and could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore.

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is not in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Drew Smyly Thursday, Aug. 27. OF Shane Robinson will start in left field and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) probably will be back in the lineup in the next game or two. Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has at least one hit in six of the last seven games, but owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options.
