The Tampa Bay Rays recalled SP Alex Cobb from Triple-A Durham Friday, May 18, to start the game Saturday, May 19, against the Atlanta Braves in place of the injured SP Jeff Niemann (leg). The team optioned P Josh Lueke to Durham in the corresponding move.

Tampa Bay Rays P Alex Cobb (rib) has been throwing bullpen sessions with no restrictions after having surgery last year to remove a blood clot from his rib. "I'm 100 percent," Cobb said. "I feel better than I did last year."
