Tue, 18 Jun 2013 11:13:38 -0700 Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Cobb (concussion) has been released from the hospital, but the team doesn't want him to rush back, and manager Joe Maddon expects Cobb to be out for a while. "I don't know (if he'll pitch this year). I don't know one way or the other. We haven't even discussed that. Again, I think it's important that he gets to the next day and sees how he feels." All tests on Cobb have come back negative, although he's dealing with a minor concussion. The Rays aren't sure who will replace Cobb in the rotation. Fantasy Tip: There is no timetable for Cobb's return, and Maddon's words seem to indicate he'll be out for quite a while. You shouldn't outright drop Cobb, but you'll have to be patient and put him in a DL spot for now.

Tue, 11 Jun 2013 13:17:24 -0700 Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Cobb was placed on the bereavement list because his grandmother passed away. SP Jake Odorizzi has been called up from Triple-A Durham to take his place. Fantasy Tip: Odorizzi probably isn't worth a mixed-league add yet because this looks like a temporary assignment; another more permanent opening will have to be created for him to stick. Cobb should be back later this week.
