Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward plead guilty to reckless driving Wednesday, Feb. 22, after driving under the influence charges were dropped which he was originally charged with in an arrest in July. Ward was sentenced to serve 12 months' probation, 80 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine.

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said the team has not parted ways with WR Hines Ward. "To this current point no final decisions have been made," Colbert said. "We've had several discussions internally."

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward said he is willing to take a pay cut if that means he can remain with the team next season. "I'd probably have to restructure my contract," Ward said. "That's fine with me. I recognize that. I'm telling you I want to be here, I'm telling you I'm willing to do that. And I understand the ramifications - we have the cap number and stuff, but I want to be here."

Steelers | Will decide Hines Ward's fate by March

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward is due a roster bonus in March. The Steelers must decide whether they will pay that bonus, which means they want to keep him for 2012, or release him. There is a sense that some Steelers coaches do not want Ward back, as he no longer can get separation from defenders.
