Fri, 31 Jul 2015 13:16:18 -0700

The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired 1B Michael Morse from the Los Angeles Dodgers along with cash considerations in exchange for OF Jose Tabata Friday, July 31.

The Pirates are betting they can sneak him through waivers and outright him, but will Tabata be willing to go? Stay tuned to further updates.

While he's failed to get an extra-base hit this season, Tabata is hitting .364 against southpaws, and he can be used in GPP lineups.

Pirates | Jose Tabata coming up

Tue, 19 May 2015 11:50:04 -0700

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Jose Tabata was recalled from the minors Tuesday, May 19.

Pirates | Jose Tabata open to trade

Sat, 21 Mar 2015 04:47:21 -0700

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Jose Tabata is open to a trade if it means he has a chance to get playing time. "I want to be in the big leagues, whether it's here or someone else," Tabata said.

Fantasy Tip: Tabata isn't on the 40-man roster and hit just .282 last year in 186 plate appearances. As it is, Tabata carries minimal fantasy value now, so a change of scenery may be just what the doctor ordered.
