Chicago Cubs C David Ross (concussion) was activated from the 7-day concussion disabled list Friday, July 15, and RP Trevor Cahill (knee) was put on the 15-day DL in a corresponding move with right patellar tendinitis.

Chicago Cubs SP Jason Hammel (hamstring) is expected to be able to make his next start after leaving early with a hamstring cramp against the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday, May 30. However, the Cubs are 21 games over .500 and probably won't take any chances with his health. Hammel injured his calf before the All-Star break last year and was never the same. Ps Travis Wood or Trevor Cahill could start a game if needed.
Fantasy Tip: Hammel tossed two scoreless innings before departing to drop his ERA on the year to 2.09. The way he's throwing this year, he should remain in starting lineups in all formats if he's able to make his next start.
