Yankees | A-Rod in Friday lineup

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 12:24:03 -0700

New York Yankees DH Alex Rodriguez is in the starting lineup Friday, July 15, against the Boston Red Sox. OF Rob Refsnyder is on the bench and OF Carlos Beltran is back in right field against Red Sox SP Steven Wright.

Fantasy Tip: With four hits in his last seven games, A-Rod is still a risky fantasy play so the best bet is to leave him alone. Beltran has much better numbers (.299-19-56) so he should be in your lineup.

Red Sox | Steven Wright earns 10th win

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 19:46:46 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Steven Wright (10-5) allowed six runs (five earned) on nine hits over six innings in a victory over the Texas Rangers Wednesday, July 6, with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: The 31-year-old knuckleballer has not recorded a quality start in his last three outings, although he had no problem reaching double-digit victories for the first time in his MLB career thanks to a great deal of run support Wednesday. His next scheduled start won't come until after the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Wright wasn't particularly sharp for the second straight outing, as his ERA has jumped from 2.01 to 2.42 over the past 9 2/3 innings. Still, he did enough to get the win in this one, and remains a must-start across most fantasy formats.

Red Sox | Steven Wright has done well against O's

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 11:13:00 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Steven Wright has a 2.09 ERA on the year in 12 starts and is 1-0 with a 1.84 ERA with three earned runs allowed with 15 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings in three appearances against the Baltimore Orioles this year. Wright faces Baltimore Wednesday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: The knuckleballer has defied expectations this year with his fine performance in 12 starts, and he also sports a 1.13 WHIP and is striking out 7.7 hitters per nine innings. Despite his recent success this year against Baltimore, they are a very dangerous hitting club. Wright could have a tough time returning value tonight, especially after facing them already a few times this year.

Red Sox | Steven Wright has another strong outing

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 04:21:11 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Steven Wright surrendered one unearned run in 7 1/3 innings Friday, June 10, in an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Twins. In his last five starts, the right-hander is 3-0 with a 0.99 ERA in 36 1/3 innings.

Fantasy Tip: Wright has turned into something resembling a staff ace almost overnight. Can he keep up the quality? Ah, that's the magic question. For now, Wright is a must-play in DFS formats and he should be on your regular fantasy lineup. The Red Sox have an explosive team and that offense can back up Wright's pitching.
