Andrew Mason, of DenverBroncos.com, reports although he will practice this week, Denver Broncos SS Lee Flowers' return does not yet mean the release of another player. "He can come and practice with our football team and he doesn't count on the (53-man roster) for a week," Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan said. "We've got one free week that he can be on our team and not count, and then we have to make a decision which way we'll go." If the Broncos decide to play Flowers as part of the 45-man active squad for the Sunday, Oct. 5, game against the Kansas City Chiefs, they will have to release a player, as Flowers would then count against the 53-man limit and the grace period would end early.

However, it would not be a surprise to see Flowers be inactive another week to save a roster spot.

Flowers said he might sue the company that produced the "vitamin" because ephedra was not listed on the ingredients. Flowers will be suspended without pay for the first four regular season games of the upcoming season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
