The Cincinnati Reds recalled SS Kris Negron from Triple-A Louisville Thursday, July 10, because of injuries to 2B Brandon Phillips (thumb) and OF Billy Hamilton (hamstring). RP Carlos Contreras was optioned to Louisville in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Negron is purely roster depth. He can be ignored in all formats.

The Cincinnati Reds made 12 roster changes on Tuesday, March 12, leaving 44 players in camp. P's Tony Cingrani and Daniel Corcino were optioned to Triple-A Louisville, P's Kyle Lotzkar and Josh Ravin were optioned to Double-A Pensacola, P Carlos Contreras and OF Yorman Rodriguez were optioned to Class A Bakersfield and P Ismael Guillon was optioned to Class A Dayton. P's Nick Christiani and Chad Rogers, C Nevin Ashley, INF Kris Negron and OF Ryan LaMarre were reassigned to minor league camp.

They include Ps Nick Christiani, Wilkin De La Rosa, Justin Freeman, Drew Hayes and Chad Rogers, Cs Nevin Ashley, Tucker Barnhart and Corky Miller, INFs Emmanuel Burriss, Cesar Izturis and Kris Negron and OFs Billy Hamilton, Ryan LaMarre, Denis Phipps and Derrick Robinson.

Reds | Kris Negron named AFL Player of the Week

Cincinnati Reds IF Kris Negron was named the Arizona Fall League's Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 14, according to MLB.com. He hit .368 (7-for-19) with two home runs, five RBIs and three walks last week. Negron is tied for the league lead in homers (four) and triples (four).
