Colorado Rockies P Josh Roenicke will receive a break from piggyback duties and will instead settle into a matchup role out of the bullpen. SP Guillermo Moscoso will replace Roenicke in the role.

Colorado Rockies RP Josh Roenicke has earned a spot in the team's bullpen to start the year. He has a 0.79 ERA in 11 1/3 Cactus League innings. Roenicke will serve in middle relief. RP Esmil Rogers is expected to win a spot also. Ps Alex White, Tyler Chatwood and Matt Reynolds are competing for another spot.

Colorado Rockies SP Alex White will be moving to the bullpen to compete with RPs Esmil Rogers and Josh Roenicke for a relief spot. White pitched two scoreless innings against the Cincinnati Reds Sunday, March 25, striking out three and giving up two hits. "My stuff is getting better and better and my slider is coming along," White said. "My two-seamer is working well right now. I throw pretty hard and I can use my four-seamer as a weapon as well." It's unclear if he'll start if he begins the season in the minors.

The Colorado Rockies have agreed to terms with Ps Rex Brothers, Edwar Cabrera, Jhoulys Chacin, Tyler Chatwood, Edgmer Escalona, Christian Friedrich, Guillermo Moscoso, Juan Nicasio, Josh Outman, Drew Pomeranz, Zach Putnam, Matt Reynolds, Josh Roenicke and Esmil Rogers, C Wilin Rosario, INFs Thomas Field, Hector Gomez, Jonathan Herrera, DJ LeMahieu, Chris Nelson and Jordan Pacheco and OFs Charlie Blackmon, Tyler Colvin, Jamie Hoffmann and Eric Young Jr. on one-year contracts.

Colorado Rockies C Wilin Rosario, who will be a September call-up, probably won't come up until after the minor league season ends because Double-A Tulsa is in the playoff race. Ps Josh Roenicke and J.C. Romero will likely be recalled, but a recent injury to IF Chris Nelson (undisclosed) may hinder his chances.
