Baltimore Orioles SP Josh Stinson is expected to be added to the roster Wednesday, April 24, in order to start against the Toronto Blue Jays. SP Freddy Garcia is listed as the starter for Triple-A Norfolk Tuesday, April 23, which takes him out of the running.

Fantasy Tip: Stinson should only be considered in deep AL-only leagues, especially since there is no guarantee he'll stick in the rotation past Wednesday. Freddy Garcia could be called up later if Stinson struggles Wednesday.

The Baltimore Orioles will need a starting pitcher for the Wednesday, April 24, finale against the Toronto Blue Jays, thanks in part to a rainout and other adjustments. SP Freddy Garcia appears to be the favorite thanks to a contract clause where he can opt out after five minor-league starts if there is no chance he will be promoted to the parent club. Other candidates include SP's Zach Britton and Josh Stinson.

The Baltimore Orioles don't plan to send SP Jake Arrieta to a bullpen role in the minors, and he'll start again for Triple-A Norfolk Friday, April 26. The team won't use a reliever for Arrieta's spot in the rotation Wednesday, April 24. SPs Zach Britton, Freddy Garcia and Josh Stinson are candidates to take the vacant rotation spot. Garcia is the only one not on the 40-man roster, and he has an opt-out clause in his contract. SP Jair Jurrjens started in the minors Sunday, April 21, so he's not an option.

Fantasy Tip: Britton, Garcia and Stinson should only be considered if you're desperate in AL-only leagues. Arrieta could be brought back up to get another shot in the starting rotation at some point, but he's not worth owning for the time being.

Updating a previous report, the Oakland Athletics assigned P Josh Stinson to Double-A Midland Friday, March 29, and they optioned P Dan Otero to Triple-A Sacramento. Both players were claimed off waivers earlier in the day.
