Vito Stellino, of the Florida Times-Union reports Jacksonville Jaguars RB LaBrandon Toefield is working with the No. 1 offense at the Jaguars' organized team activities because RB Fred Taylor (knee) is still sidelined following knee surgery. Currently, Toefield is the running back, Greg Jones is the fullback and Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala is backing up both while fighting for a starting spot. Toefield is excited he is being given his chance. "When an opportunity comes, you've got to be ready,'' he said. ''I'm ready now and the opportunity is there. I've got to make the best of it. If Fred can't go, then I'm the guy.'' Toefield has battled his own injuries, but he has played in 30-of-32 games in his first two seasons.

Vic Ketchman, of Jaguars.com, reports Jacksonville Jaguars RB Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala is currently listed as No. 3 on the depth chart at running back this year, but is looking to ascend and contribute as a key role player in 2005. "My take on everything is I'm going to be a role player this year," Fuamatu-Ma'afala said. "I'm going to compete and hopefully I can slide into (the No. 2 RB) spot."

Updating previous reports, the two-year deal FB/RB Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars has base salaries of $665,000 (2005) and $670,000 (2006).

Bart Hubbuch, of the Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said RB Greg Jones would see the bulk of the work at tailback during Week 16 if RB Fred Taylor (knee) is unable to play. The team would also likely utilize RBs Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala and LaBrandon Toefield. Del Rio said the team would use all of their backs if Taylor is not available.
