The Boston Red Sox reassigned SS Xander Bogaerts, INF Jonathan Diaz and 2B Drew Sutton to minor league camp Monday, March 25.

Fantasy Tip: Bogaerts is the best fantasy option of the the three, but with Jose Iglesias in the mix to back up Stephen Drew if necessary this year, it probably won't be until next year or later when you can consider Bogaerts a viable commodity in anything other than keeper leagues.

The Boston Red Sox have announced that the following 19 players will participate in major league spring training camp as non-roster invitees: Ps Pedro Beato, Christopher Carpenter, Anthony Carter, Jose De La Torre, Terry Doyle, Chris Hernandez and Oscar Villarreal, INFs Xander Bogaerts, Jonathan Diaz, Mark Hamilton, Justin Henry, Deven Marrero, Lyle Overbay and Drew Sutton and OFs Jackie Bradley, Jeremy Hazelbaker, Juan Carlos Linares, Mitch Maier and Ryan Sweeney.

The Boston Red Sox signed free-agent INF Jonathan Diaz (Blue Jays) and 1B Mark Hamilton (Cardinals) to minor league deals with invites to spring training Friday, Jan. 4. Both players are likely to start the year with Triple-A Pawtucket.

Toronto Blue Jays 1B David Cooper, INF Jonathan Diaz and INF Chris Woodward were sent to the minor league camp Sunday, March 25. C Yan Gomes was also cut.

No timetable has been established for the return of Toronto Blue Jays SS Yunel Escobar (elbow), who has been dealing with a sore left elbow. Minor league SS Jonathan Diaz, who is currently playing with Double-A New Hampshire, is a likely candidate to be added to the active roster if Escobar's injury does not improve. Manager John Farrell said there are not expected to be any additional promotions from New Hampshire besides Diaz because the team's roster is full enough as is.
