Milwaukee Brewers RP Jeremy Jeffress, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Joe Smith and Atlanta Braves RP Chris Withrow are among the bullpen options being monitored by the New York Mets ahead of the trade deadline. The club views adding another reliever as being "more easily attainable" as opposed to a starting pitcher.
Fantasy Tip: It would be a boost for each Withrow and Smith if one were to land on the Mets, at least in leagues that score holds, as both would get more opportunities at such compared to their current employers. Jeffress, however, would receive a huge downgrade, as he would no longer be closing like he does for Milwaukee, and effectively so in that role.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Joe Smith will likely be dealt by the deadline.
Fantasy Tip: Several teams definitely have an eye on Smith as a closing candidate, so definitely stay tuned to see where he lands. He's had some closing experience while Huston Street has been injured on occasions, so Smith definitely knows the ins and outs.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Joe Smith could be moved to another club before the trade deadline because he is in the final season of a three-year, $15.75 million contract.
Fantasy Tip: The 32-year-old right-hander is 1-3 with a 3.91 ERA and six saves in 25 appearances this season, with 17 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings. Although he's likely to be used in low-leverage situations for the immediate future after being activated from the disabled list, he would likely return to a setup role if a contender acquires him. For now, he should be owned in AL-only and cavernous mixed fantasy leagues.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Joe Smith is unlikely to resume his role as the eighth-inning setup man for RP Huston Street, at least not initially after returning from the disabled list. RP Cam Bedrosian and a combination of other pitchers could serve in the eighth-inning role.
Fantasy Tip: Smith has been a pretty reliable late-inning reliever and can help stabilize ratios in deeper leagues, but his appeal isn't strong outside of the deepest of AL-leagues as a handcuff to Street. Street is a very shaky fantasy closer with a 5.28 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and only 5.3 K's per nine innings. Those speculating for saves in deeper leagues should look Bedrosian's way, as he's been very good and would profile nicely in the ninth if the Angels change course.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RP Joe Smith (hamstring) was activated from the disabled list Friday, July 1. In a corresponding move, RP Mike Morin was optioned to the minors.
Fantasy Tip: Smith is worth a speculative add for fantasy owners chasing saves, or at worst, he's a player to watch. Current closer Huston Street has allowed eight runs over his past 4 1/3 innings and has blown two of his past three save opportunities. It's a situation to watch.
