Danny Wild, of MLB.com, reports Washington Nationals P Cory Van Allen gave up seven runs and eight hits while walking one and striking out five in 2 2/3 innings in the Arizona Fall League Tuesday, Oct. 28.

Bill Ladson, of Nationals.MLB.com, reports the Washington Nationals will likely call up a pitcher from the minor leagues to replace SP Jason Bergmann (elbow), who will miss his Saturday, May 19, start. The pitcher will likely be a veteran as Bowden said earlier this week that the club will not rush SP Collin Balester or P Cory Van Allen.
