Orioles | Chris Davis blazing hot

Fri, 05 Apr 2013 16:29:17 -0700

Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis had a grand slam and five RBIs Friday, April 5, to become only the fourth player in history to hit home runs in his first four games of the season, joining the likes of Willie Mays, Mark McGwire and Texas Rangers OF Nelson Cruz. Davis is 9-for-15 (.600) with four dingers and 16 RBIs.

Fantasy Tip: You know what they say: Ride 'em when they're hot. If you didn't earlier this week, hopefully you now have Davis in your lineup. He has really benefited from consistent playing time in Baltimore, and he's picking up where he left off at the end of last year.

Orioles | Conor Jackson playing well

Wed, 06 Mar 2013 17:11:04 -0800

Baltimore Orioles OF Conor Jackson hit two home runs Tuesday, March 5, and he has a slash line of .313/.353/.750 with five RBIs in six spring training games. Jackson is receiving the chance to prove he belongs on the roster, and so far he has delivered. Manager Buck Showalter said Jackson is finally regaining the strength he lost from valley fever back in 2009. He could become the backup to 1B Chris Davis as well as providing depth in the outfield. He could also platoon at designated hitter with 1B Wilson Betemit, but he'll need to beat out 1B Steve Pearce and 3B Danny Valencia.
