Nationals | Set rotation for Milwaukee series

Mon, 14 Jul 2014 12:38:29 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg will pitch Friday, July 18, against the Milwaukee Brewers. Strasburg will be followed by SPs Gio Gonzalez and Doug Fister. Manager Matt Williams is waiting on Jodran Zimmermann's (elbow) status before setting the rest of the rotation.

Fantasy Tip: The Nationals pitching staff have been excellent of late, but the Brewers are always a tough matchup. If Zimmermann misses a start, Blake Treinen would be a likely candidate to take his spot. It would be a road start against the Colorado Rockies, though, making Treinen an unattractive speculative add.

Nationals | Doug Fister to be on pitch count

Wed, 07 May 2014 15:07:23 -0700

Washington Nationals SP Doug Fister (lat) will be on a pitch count of 100 pitches when he comes off the disabled list to start Friday, May 9, against the Oakland Athletics.

Fantasy Tip: This is a note that should be factored into whether you will start Fister immediately upon his activation. The A's are a scrappy offensive team, too, so you may want to wait until his next turn.
