The Pittsburgh Steelers have restructured the final year of DL Casey Hampton's three-year, $21 million contract, according to a league source. Under the restructure, Hampton reduced his base salary to $2.8 million and his workout bonus is gone, reducing his cap number by $3.09 million.

He is recovering from surgery Jan. 27, to repair an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He wants to play in 2012, but will count $8 million against the salary cap in 2012.
