The Colorado Rockies activated RP Edgmer Escalona (elbow) from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, July 2, after the team placed OF Dexter Fowler (wrist) on the DL. OF Tyler Colvin is starting in center field Tuesday, and OF Corey Dickerson could also see time out in center.

Colorado Rockies OF Dexter Fowler (wrist) was scratched from the lineup Friday, June 28, against the San Francisco Giants due to his nagging right wrist injury. OF Tyler Colvin drew the start in his stead.

Colorado Rockies OF Dexter Fowler (hand) will undergo an MRI exam on his right hand Thursday, June 27. OF Carlos Gonzalez will remain in left field to keep him healthy, and the team could recall OF Charlie Blackmon from the minors if Fowler is out any longer. Blackmon can play all three outfield positions and is hitting .269 at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Fantasy Tip: Tyler Colvin is ice cold right now and Corey Dickerson isn't able to play center field, hence the need for Blackmon if Fowler needs an extended absence. If that happens, scoop Blackmon up in NL-only leagues. He probably won't be around long enough to warrant consideration in mixed leagues, though.

Colorado Rockies OF Dexter Fowler (finger) is back in the lineup Friday, June 21.
Fantasy Tip: Fowler avoiding the disabled list severely limits Corey Dickerson's value to a part-time player that could platoon with Tyler Colvin. Dickerson isn't anything more than depth for NL leagues.
Fri, 21 Jun 2013 12:23:49 -0700
Updating a previous report, Colorado Rockies OF Dexter Fowler (finger) isn't expected to land on the disabled list after X-rays on his right ring finger came back negative. He's hoping to play Friday, June 21. OF Corey Dickerson will be used as outfield depth, and he cannot play center field. OF Charlie Blackmon is more versatile, but Dickerson was swinging the bat much better down on the farm.
Fantasy Tip: This tempers the excitement for Dickerson in deep mixed leagues and NL-only formats, although he could see some time in the short-term with Fowler ailing and Tyler Colvin slumping.
Fri, 21 Jun 2013 11:22:17 -0700
Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson will be added to the active roster Friday, June 21, with OF Dexter Fowler (finger) ailing. Fowler can't grip a bat, although X-rays on his right ring finger knuckle came back negative. It's expected that Fowler will land on the disabled list. Dickerson will give the team outfield depth. He was hitting .386 with a .429 on-base percentage and nine home runs at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Fantasy Tip: Tyler Colvin is 0-for-14 recently and might be passed up in favor of Dickerson, since he was swinging a hot stick down in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. He has above average power and could be used in cavernous mixed leagues if he plays enough. Of course, that'll mainly depend on if Fowler lands on the DL.
Thu, 20 Jun 2013 14:17:56 -0700
Colorado Rockies OF Dexter Fowler (finger) will undergo another MRI exam or X-rays to see if his finger is broken. There is a chance he could land on the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Tyler Colvin would benefit immediately from consistent playing time if Fowler lands on the disabled list now that the Rockies recently traded Eric Young Jr. to the Mets. Check Colvin out in cavernous mixed leagues if Fowler goes down.
