Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer will have $35 million of his salary deferred without interest, according to sources. He will be paid $10 million in 2015 and $15 million in each of the next three seasons. His salary then jumps to $35 million a year in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Additionally, Scherzer's $50 million signing bonus will be spread out over the life of the contract.

Washington Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann will not be dealt to the Milwaukee Brewers, according to sources. Speculation had Zimmermann heading to Milwaukee following the Nationals' signing of SP Max Scherzer, because Zimmermann is a Wisconsin native.
