Double-A Bowie 1B Joe Mahoney will likely be placed on the 7-day disabled list due to an undisclosed injury. 1B William Rowell (undisclosed) is already on the DL, while OF Kyle Hudson was transferred to Bowie from Class A Frederick. C Adam Donachie was also transferred to Bowie from Class A Aberdeen.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Baltimore Orioles have narrowed the gap in contract negotiations with IF William Rowell, the team's first-round draft pick, and hope to announce a deal soon. Rowell was the ninth overall selection in the draft and is expected to sign for a bonus close to $2 million. He is believed to have asked for $2.3 million initially and the Orioles are believed to have offered $2 million.
