Thu, 09 May 2013 12:54:14 -0700 Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn (finger) will be activated from the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 10, and RP Scott Barnes has been sent to Triple-A Columbus to make room on the roster. Fantasy Tip: Get ready to put Bourn back in your lineup this weekend. It's unclear who will lose out the most in playing time in the outfield upon his return. Ryan Raburn has been swinging a hot bat, so Terry Francona might try to keep him in the lineup as much as possible at the expense of either Michael Brantley or Drew Stubbs.
Tue, 07 May 2013 11:48:36 -0700 Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn (finger) had his rehab game with Triple-A Columbus rained out Monday, May 6, but the team expects to activate him from the disabled list this weekend if he doesn't have any setbacks. Fantasy Tip: The return of Bourn will likely push red-hot Ryan Raburn to less playing time, although Terry Francona could choose to have him platoon in the outfield with Michael Brantley or Drew Stubbs.
Tue, 16 Apr 2013 16:30:38 -0700 Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn (finger) needed five stitches to close the gash on his right index finger, and he has his finger splinted. X-rays came out negative on his finger Monday, April 15. OF Drew Stubbs was in center field and leadoff off Tuesday, April 16, and 2B Ryan Raburn was in right field and batting ninth. Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Bourn's injury isn't serious, but he'll need a DL stint to let the cut heal completely. Expect him to be back when he's eligible to return.
Fri, 15 Feb 2013 14:53:32 -0800 The Minnesota Twins may be interested in trading for Cleveland Indians OF Drew Stubbs if the Tribe is serious about dangling him. Special assistant Wayne Krivsky had a hand in taking Stubbs eighth overall in the 2006 draft for the Cincinnati Reds.
Wed, 13 Feb 2013 17:28:29 -0800 Cleveland Indians OF Drew Stubbs worked with Cincinnati Reds assistant hitting coach Ronnie Ortegon this winter on eliminating his leg kick at the plate in favor of a smaller toe tap that he will use in his swing as a trigger mechanism. Stubbs is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Detroit Tigers OF Austin Jackson, who eliminated his leg kick and improved his batting average from .249 to .300 and drastically cut down his strikeouts.
Wed, 13 Feb 2013 07:43:56 -0800 The Cleveland Indians are receiving calls about OF Michael Brantley and Drew Stubbs. The plan is to keep them, but the speculation is that Stubbs will be dealt.
Tue, 12 Feb 2013 11:55:18 -0800 Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona said OF Michael Brantley will play left field, OF Drew Stubbs will be in right, OF Nick Swisher will mostly play first base and some right field and 1B Mark Reynolds will serve as the designated hitter and sometimes play first base.
Tue, 12 Feb 2013 09:43:39 -0800 The Cleveland Indians will lose their third pick in this year's draft (69th overall) after signing OF Michael Bourn. Their first-round pick (fifth overall) was protected and their second-round pick was forfeited when they signed OF Nick Swisher. Bourn will instantly become the team's new leadoff hitter, and the team has no plans to move him out of center field. If Swisher remains in right field, OF Drew Stubbs will likely be the odd-man out in the outfield. Swisher could also be asked to move to first base, making 1B Mark Reynolds the full-time designated hitter.
Tue, 12 Feb 2013 05:19:58 -0800 The Cleveland Indians could use OF Drew Stubbs as trade bait.
Thu, 07 Feb 2013 08:15:13 -0800 Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona said he'd wait to talk to OFs Michael Brantley and Drew Stubbs in spring training before naming a starting center fielder.
