Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw off to dominant start

Tue, 24 May 2016 22:41:27 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw threw his third shutout of the season on Monday, May 23, and in doing so became the first major-league pitcher to log three shutouts in his first 10 starts of a season since David Cone in 1994.

Fantasy Tip: Yet more evidence that Kershaw is as good as they get. Whatever his shortcomings may be come October, he's a legitimate ace for fantasy owners.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw continues mastery

Mon, 23 May 2016 23:49:21 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw allowed two hits and struck out seven in a 1-0 shutout over the Cincinnati Reds Monday, May 23. He retired the final 17 batters and issued just his fifth walk of the season.

Fantasy Tip: What more can we say about Kershaw's season? He's 7-1 with a 1.48 ERA, a 0.66 WHIP and 95 K's in 79 innings. If he's not the best pitcher in fantasy, he's not far from it.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw dominant yet again

Tue, 17 May 2016 23:09:06 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw improved to 6-1 on the year Tuesday, May 17, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He logged eight innings of four-hit ball, yielding only one run. He finished with 11 strikeouts and no walks.

Fantasy Tip: This is starting to remind people of the truly dominant run Chris Sale had last year when he registered all those consecutive starts with double-digit strikeout performances. For Kershaw, that's now six straight outings with 10 K's or more, and for the year, he's allowed two runs or less in all but one of his starts. With a 1.67 ERA, he's still the best starting pitcher in fantasy and he's paying off owners who invested in him early on draft day.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw dominates

Thu, 12 May 2016 23:36:27 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw fanned 13 in a three-hit shutout of the New York Mets Thursday, May 12. He allowed one walk en route to a franchise record with his fifth straight start with double-digit strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw has stiff competition from Jake Arrieta as the best pitcher in fantasy baseball, but he's holding his own. He's 5-1 with a 1.74 ERA, a 0.73 WHIP and 77 K's in 62 innings. He's worth DFS consideration every time he starts.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw strikes out 10

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw allowed one run on 10 hits in eight innings against the Atlanta Braves Thursday, April 21. He struck out 10 batters and walked one during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw has pitched at least seven innings in all four of his starts this season and has not allowed more than three runs in any game. Kershaw should be a starting option no matter which team he is facing.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw experimenting with changeup

Wed, 06 Apr 2016 17:04:53 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw threw two changeups during his victory over the San Diego Padres Monday, April 4. He had spent the preseason working on the pitch with retired RP Eric Gagne, who served as an instructor in spring training camp. Prior to this year, Kershaw had relied almost exclusively on a combination of fastballs, curveballs and sliders.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw allowed one hit and one walk over seven scoreless innings against the Friars, with nine strikeouts. He still considers the changeup to be his fourth-best pitch, so don't expect to see it very often for now. He is arguably the best pitcher in fantasy baseball and is a must-start option every time he takes the mound in daily fantasy contests.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw embarrasses Fathers

Mon, 04 Apr 2016 21:32:21 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw allowed just one hit and one walk over seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in a win Monday, April 4, against the San Diego Padres. He threw 61 of his 96 pitches for strikes.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw looked the part of fantasy ace in this one, as the Padres had very few answers. He was winless in three starts against San Diego last season, although he posted a 2.20 ERA in three outings with 27 strikeouts over 16 1/3 innings. It appears he is on track to dominate them again in 2016.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw sharp Sunday

Sun, 13 Mar 2016 18:10:54 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw struck out three over five scoreless innings in spring training Sunday, March 13.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw has 10 strikeouts in 10 innings to go along with a 0.90 ERA this spring, and he should be the first pitcher off the board in all formats.
