Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw starting Friday

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 15:33:05 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw (hip) will start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Friday, July 31.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) has averaged 25.33 FantasyScore points without allowing an earned run over his past three outings. There may be a slight injury concern, and the Angels aren't a breeze-through lineup, but Kershaw has been as good as any hurler in the league of late. Start him with confidence in all fantasy formats Friday, including daily contests.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw sits, Bolsinger to start

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 09:40:52 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw (hip) was scratched Wednesday, July 29, with SP Mike Bolsinger set to take the start against the Oakland Athletics. Kershaw will pitch either Saturday, Aug. 1, or Sunday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Bolsinger ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has a 2.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP this month and makes a great SP2 on FantasyScore tonight.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw may be scratched

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 09:16:09 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw (hip) could be scratched from his start Wednesday, July 29, against the Oakland Athletics due to soreness in the hip and gluteus region. SP Mike Bolsinger would be pushed up to start in Kershaw's place, and Kershaw could start Friday, July 31.

Fantasy Tip: It's a good matchup whichever gets the ball tonight. Kershaw ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) is probably at too high of a price to consider, though, because it's tough to build a lineup around him on FantasyScore. Bolsinger ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) would make a nice SP2, though.

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 20:55:39 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw shut out the New York Mets Thursday, July 23, allowing three hits and striking out 11.

Fantasy Tip: After a modest start to the year by his standards, Kershaw ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) has now tossed 29 straight scoreless innings and is once against a must-start option at FantasyScore when he takes the mound.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw's perfect streak ends

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 17:47:47 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw had retired 25 consecutive batters stretching back to Saturday, July 18, against the Washington Nationals, before he allowed a single to New York Mets OF Curtis Granderson in the seventh inning Thursday, July 23.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw ($9,700, 19.4% of cap) had struck out nine batters through 6 1/3 innings prior to Granderson's hit. Teammate Zack Greinke is the only pitcher more expensive than Kershaw on FantasyScore, and both players have still managed to provide owners with more points than expected of late.

Dodgers | Clayon Kershaw dominates Nationals

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 15:33:48 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw struck out a season-high 14 hitters Saturday, July 18, against the Washington Nationals. Kershaw pitched eight scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) allowed just three singles on the day, while not issuing a single free pass. It's a good sign from Kershaw, as he tries to put a slightly disappointing first half of the season behind him.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw leads NL in K/9

Wed, 15 Jul 2015 21:46:35 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw heads into the second half with an 11.71 K/9 (strikeouts to nine innings) ratio while managing a 1.02 WHIP and 2.85 ERA.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw ($9,400; or 18.8% of cap) will start Friday's game in Washington. He is 1-4 with a 3.88 ERA in nine road starts, pitching way better (5-2, 1.88 ERA) in nine home outings. However, Kershaw still has 70 strikeouts over 60 1/3 innings away from home to make him a useful FantasyScore option anytime he takes the ball.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw goes the distance

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 22:47:18 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw scattered eight hits with 13 strikeouts in a complete game shutout Wednesday, July 8, against the Philadelphia Phillies. He hasn't allowed a run over his past 31 innings against the Phillies. It was his 10th career shutout and 18th complete game.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw ($9,400; or 18.8% of cap) improved to 5-2 while lowering his home ERA to 1.87 in nine starts at Dodger Stadium, while he is 1-4 with a 3.88 ERA in nine road outings. When he is at home he is FantasyScore gold.

Dodgers | Clayton Kershaw has streak snapped

Sun, 28 Jun 2015 05:30:35 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw had his streak of 225 consecutive starts without losing three games in a row snapped Saturday, June 27, with a 3-2 loss to the Miami Marlins. Kershaw is joined by Mike Mussina, Jim Palmer and Whitey Ford as the only other pitchers to have a streak of at least 225 starts.

Fantasy Tip: Kershaw ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) has lost six games before July 1 for the first time in his career, and he's below .500 after June 1 for the first time since 2009. Kershaw owns the highest strikeout rate of his career, and his adequate 3.20 ERA is bested by his 2.11 xFIP. Kershaw hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in a game since May 21, and if he can get some run support, he'll go back to looking as dominant as ever.
