Rangers | Matt Harrison set for rehab start

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 21:38:37 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) will make a start for Triple-A Round Rock Wednesday, July 1, as he makes his way back from spinal fusion surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Harrison is nearing a return to the big club, but his exact role is uncertain. Avoid him in FantasyScore until he can officially return and pitch in the rotation and prove his health.

Rangers | Matt Harrison's return looming

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 16:48:21 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (neck) could return to the starting rotation the week before the All-Star break. The team could go to a six-man rotation when Harrison's 30-day rehab assignment comes to an end after July 2. Harrison threw a bullpen session Friday, June 26, and will throw again Sunday, June 28, before making another rehab start for Class AAA Round Rock Wednesday, July 1.

Fantasy Tip: There's no obvious candidate to be bumped from the rotation to make room for Harrison in a few weeks. A move to a six-man rotation would cause the current rotation members to lose some fantasy value. Stash Harrison in deep mixed or AL-only leagues now if you're in need of rotation help.

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) worked six innings for Double-A Frisco in his fifth minor-league rehab start Wednesday, June 24. He is making his way back from spinal fusion surgery last season.

Fantasy Tip: Harrison might be able to return sometime this summer, but FantasyScore players should avoid him until he can officially return and prove his health in at least two full starts without any setbacks.

Rangers | Matt Harrison makes another rehab start

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 15:19:07 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (neck) tossed six innings for Class AA Frisco Wednesday, June 24, and gave up five runs and nine hits while walking three. He's expected to make another rehab start for Class AAA Round Rock Monday, June 29, before his rehab assignment ends.

Fantasy Tip: There's no guarantee that Harrison will rejoin Texas' rotation after his start next Monday, and he could remain in the minor leagues for more starts. In very deep mixed and AL-only leagues you might want to consider stashing him if you need rotation help.

Rangers | Matt Harrison will make second rehab start

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 15:44:20 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) will make his second rehab start Monday, June 8, at Class AAA Round Rock.

Rangers | Matt Harrison to rehab Wednesday

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 09:18:27 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) threw a bullpen session Sunday, May 31, and he's scheduled to make a rehab start with Class AAA Round Rock Wednesday, June 3, which will be exactly a year after his spinal fusion surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Harrison has had a long road to recovery, and it'll be a mystery as to whether he can return to the Texas rotation and be effective. The odds are that he won't provide much for fantasy owners, so he's a stash candidate strictly in deep AL-only leagues.

Rangers | Matt Harrison still progressing

Thu, 28 May 2015 14:08:07 -0700

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) struck out nine batters over five innings during an extended spring training game Thursday, May 28, and he will throw a bullpen session Sunday, May 31.

Fantasy Tip: Harrison is a long way from returning any fantasy value, and he should be left on the waiver wire in the majority of formats. At best, he could reward a speculative stash in AL-only leagues.

Rangers | Matt Harrison convinced he'll return

Wed, 22 Apr 2015 09:40:11 -0700

He threw 75 pitches in a bullpen session Monday, April 20, and will throw 80 pitches Friday, April 24. He would graduate to facing hitters the following week. He could be ready for a rehab assignment in three or four weeks. A July 1 return date is possible.

Fantasy Tip: Harrison could be a low-end starter to target in the second half on FantasyScore.

Rangers | Matt Harrison working on mechanics

Mon, 09 Feb 2015 15:28:47 -0800

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) is playing catch from 90 feet as he works on his mechanics following spinal fusion surgery. It's the third straight week Harrison has thrown from 90 feet, but he wants to stay focused on his mechanics at that distance before moving to a new distance and routine.
