Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) is scheduled to pitch in a 'B' spring game against the Kansas City Royals Tuesday, March 11. It will be the first time he has pitched against an opposing team since his second start of last season April 6. "It's finally here. Getting into a game again and getting that adrenaline rush again is exciting," Harrison said Monday, March 10. "It's not live BP, it's a real game and I've been waiting seven months for it now."

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison's (back) MRI results came back clean Monday, Feb. 24, and he's expected to resume his throwing program Thursday, Feb. 27. However, he won't be ready for the start of the season. Harrison received a nerve-block injection for his neck stiffness.
Fantasy Tip: This is ultimately good news for Harrison, since the injury isn't related to a disc in his back. He could wind up only missing a start or two, so it shouldn't drastically affect his value.

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) is feeling better, but he's not expected to be ready for the first series of the regular season against the Philadelphia Phillies. "I'm probably 10 days behind," Harrison said. "Hopefully, I can get back for the second or third series of the year." He's now using a firmer bed and is feeling much better. He must get through live batting practice sessions before throwing in spring games.
Fantasy Tip: The Rangers may be able to get away with skipping Harrison's spot in the rotation for just a series or two to start the season.

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) underwent an MRI exam on his sore back Thursday, Feb. 20, but will now see a doctor in Dallas Monday, Feb. 24, for further evaluation. Nothing major stuck out on the MRI, but the team wants to rule everything out. Harrison said he hasn't experienced any numbness, which is something he felt before needing surgery last year.

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (back) will undergo an MRI exam on his stiff back. He's been shut down from all baseball activities for the time being, with his stiff neck turning into a stiff back on the right side. Harrison had more issues with his left side last year, and was eventually forced to shut it down for the year with a herniated disc and nerve inflammation. He'll fly back to Dallas this weekend to be examined. Harrison threw a lot this offseason and didn't have any issues.
Fantasy Tip: With Derek Holland (knee) already out until midseason, this could test Texas' rotation depth. Harrison's injury is concerning, since it's an injury he dealt with last season that became serious. Nick Tepesch and Tommy Hanson would compete for his rotation spot if he's not ready to start the season.
