Sun, 09 Jul 2006 18:35:14 -0700 Enrique Rojas, of ESPNdeportes.com, reports the New York Mets have signed Dominican Republic prospect C Francisco Pena, the son of former C Tony Pena. The Mets gave Pena a $750,000 bonus and are not planning to make the move public until next week. Besides the bonus, Pena will receive schooling expenses in case he decides to take up his studies again. The 16-year-old catching prospect is considered one of the best pitching prospects in the Dominican Republic's baseball history.
