Indians | Lonnie Chisenhall sent down

Mon, 13 May 2013 07:47:39 -0700

The Cleveland Indians optioned 3B Lonnie Chisenhall to Triple-A Columbus and recalled SP David Huff.

Fantasy Tip: Chisenhall has gotten off to a rough start, and he may need to spend a few weeks at Triple-A to work out the kinks in his swing. Mike Aviles and Mark Reynolds will probably take over the bulk of the time at third base.

Indians | Scott Kazmir a candidate for rotation

Mon, 11 Mar 2013 12:16:16 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Scott Kazmir is a realistic option for the No. 5 starting pitcher spot with the likes of SPs Trevor Bauer, Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco, David Huff and Daisuke Matsuzaka. There is no clear favorite, but Kazmir has thrown four shutout innings this spring, giving up two hits with no walks and four strikeouts. "I think, right now, with the stuff he has, he can pitch and win," manager Terry Francona said.

Indians | David Huff open to any role with team

Wed, 06 Mar 2013 21:46:39 -0800

Cleveland Indians SP David Huff said Wednesday, March 6, he is willing to accept any job with the team if it means opening the season on the major league roster. The team has used him as a starter, but a bullpen role as a long reliever is a possibility, too. "Whether I'm starting or I'm in the bullpen, I don't care. It's a job in Cleveland. I don't care where it is. I can be giving signs over at first base, as long as I'm up there," Huff, who is out of minor league options, said.
