John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, reports New England Patriots CB Ellis Hobbs (wrist) suffered a broken wrist, according to sources, but is hopeful to play in Week 5. Hobbs, who suffered the injury during Week 4, is currently wearing a cast and a source said Hobbs is expected to miss less than four weeks with the injury. If Hobbs were unable to play this week, CB Chad Scott would replace him.

Scott's base salary will be $710,000 in 2006 and $720,000 in 2007. He will receive a workout bonus in each season, $16,160 in 2006 and $16,720 in 2007.
