Padres | Brandon Morrow tosses bullpen session

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 14:27:53 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) threw 30 pitches in a bullpen session Thursday, July 2. He is expected to throw another bullpen session Saturday, July 4.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) remains a stash candidate in cavernous mixed and NL-only formats, but FantayScore players will want to see Morrow prove himself on the mound before utilizing him in contests. Continue to check back for updates on Morrow's return timeline and progress.

Padres | Brandon Morrow to throw this weekend

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 17:01:39 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) is expected to throw a simulated game Saturday, June 27, or Sunday, June 28.

Fantasy Tip: This could be the final step before Morrow ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) begins a minor league rehab assignment. He should be stashed in NL-only and deep mixed fantasy leagues but FantasyScore owners should avoid using him in his first start or two immediately after he's activated from the disabled list.

Padres | Brandon Morrow to 60-day DL

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 16:45:23 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, June 24.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is slowing working his way back from shoulder inflammation, and he hopes to throw another bullpen session this weekend after having a rehab stint halted. At this point, Morrow is nothing more than a desperation stash in the majority of formats, and he cannot be trusted at FantasyScore until he returns and proves his health and ability in a start or two.

Padres | Brandon Morrow still not close

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 20:20:46 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Itís uncertain when Morrow ($4,200; or 8.4% of cap) will be able to return, but FantasyScore players need not bother with him until he officially returns and can make it through a start or two without any lingering effects of his injury.

Padres | Brandon Morrow shut down

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 15:28:58 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) will be shut down for a couple weeks with right shoulder soreness that resurfaced in his most recent rehab start.

Fantasy Tip: It's another tough break in the injury-prone career of Morrow ($4,900, 9.8% of cap), and there's no telling when he might return to the rotation. This news affects Odrisamer Despaigne ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) the most, as he now has more time to stay in the current rotation. He's not that desirable for FantasyScore users, though, as he doesn't rack up many strikeouts and pitches to contact. He's a sleeper matchup pick, at best, mainly when he's at the pitching-friendly confines of Petco Park.

Thu, 28 May 2015 23:43:25 -0700

Padres | Brandon Morrow to throw simulated game

Mon, 25 May 2015 18:17:30 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) will throw a simulated game Thursday, May 28. Morrow was encouraged after throwing a 42-pitch bullpen session Sunday, May 24.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) should be stashed in NL-only leagues and even very deep mixed leagues. Morrow had a 2.73 ERA through five starts before going on the disabled list, and even his 3.64 xFIP would make him worthy of a roster spot.
