Toronto Blue Jays SP Brandon Morrow (finger) is continuing his throwing program in Florida, and manager John Gibbons thinks Morrow can return sometime in September. Morrow may be used as a reliever if the team needs him in that role.
Fantasy Tip: Morrow's return is so far off that he shouldn't be held anywhere besides AL-only leagues. Even if he returns, he may not even be useful in fantasy leagues if he's pitching in relief.

Toronto Blue Jays SP Brandon Morrow allowed three walks over five innings in his latest Grapefruit League spring outing Monday, March 24, but he did avoid a lot of hard contact. "Out of all the base hits, none of them were really struck all that hard," Morrow said. "Every one was on a really good pitch. There's really not a lot to complain about as far as the pitches they hit." He is scheduled to start against Saturday, March 29, in Montreal against the New York Mets, and likely will be slotted to pitch in either the fourth or fifth game of the regular season.
Fantasy Tip: Morrow is a nice addition to the back end of AL-only fantasy rotations, but mixed leaguers might want to hold off a little while and see how he responds early before risking a roster spot. He has been a nice source of strikeouts in the past, but his propensity for injury makes him a very risky proposition at this point.

He looks like a good, strong, starting, durable pitcher." Morrow said he's feeling strong and healthy, and he added more protein shakes and eggs to his diet.
