Padres | Brandon Morrow to throw again

Thu, 28 May 2015 23:43:25 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) threw 45 pitches in a simulated game Thursday, May 28. Morrow will throw again this weekend and could go out on a rehab stint if there are no complications.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) may be close to a return, but as with any injury you may want to wait for a start or two before evaluating whether Morrow is ready to go in your lineup.

Padres | Brandon Morrow to throw simulated game

Mon, 25 May 2015 18:17:30 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) will throw a simulated game Thursday, May 28. Morrow was encouraged after throwing a 42-pitch bullpen session Sunday, May 24.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) should be stashed in NL-only leagues and even very deep mixed leagues. Morrow had a 2.73 ERA through five starts before going on the disabled list, and even his 3.64 xFIP would make him worthy of a roster spot.

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday, May 21.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) is working his way back from his shoulder injury but likely will need at least one rehab start before returning. Owners on FantasyScore should avoid Morrow until he is able to make at least one start for the Padres.

Padres | Brandon Morrow plays catch

Fri, 15 May 2015 17:07:24 -0700

Padres | Brandon Morrow expected back soon

Fri, 08 May 2015 11:38:49 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) is currently on the 15-day disabled list, but the team hopes he will not miss more than the minimum 15 days.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor Morrow's ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) recovery to see when he will be able to return. Odrisamer Despaigne ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) will take his spot in the rotation while he is sidelined but is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Padres | Brandon Morrow heading to DL

Tue, 05 May 2015 15:54:37 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (shoulder) was put on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, May 5, with right shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to May 3. RP Frank Garces was recalled from Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow was pitching very well this year and deserves to be stashed in a DL slot in all fantasy formats. Odrisamer Despaigne ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) was successful in his lone spot start this year and is likely to enter the starting rotation once again. He's a waiver wire target for rotation-needy fantasy owners and will make for a nice matchup play at FantasyScore.

Padres | Brandon Morrow earns second victory

Sun, 03 May 2015 06:17:42 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow allowed two earned runs while striking out four batters over six innings against the Colorado Rockies to record his second win of the season Saturday, May 2.

Fantasy Tip: Outside of a poor showing in Coors Field, Morrow ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has limited opponents to two earned runs or fewer in each of his four starts. On the season, he has a 2.73 ERA, a 1.09 WHIP and 23 strikeouts through 33 innings. He is a great low-priced pitching option for FantasyScore players, especially when starting in pitcher-friendly PETCO Park and against favorable matchups. Seasonal owners can turn to Morrow in deep mixed leagues, too.

Padres | Brandon Morrow dazzles in season debut

Sat, 11 Apr 2015 06:28:42 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow struck out seven batters through seven-scoreless innings against the San Francisco Giants Friday, April 10.

Fantasy Tip: Although he failed to leave with the win, it was an excellent debut for Morrow ($3,000, 6.0% of cap). At his cap hit, Morrow could be an excellent bargain for FantasyScore players in his next start against the Arizona Diamondbacks, especially at pitcher-friendly PETCO Park. He could also warrant a speculative add in seasonal leagues, as injuries have been the only thing holding Morrow back from being a fantasy force. At worst, he can likely help pad your strikeout total.

Padres | Brandon Morrow wins rotation spot

Sun, 05 Apr 2015 08:08:26 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow has won the fifth spot in the starting rotation, according to manager Bud Black.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) pitched in only 13 games last season and is looking for a bounce back season with the Padres. Morrow should be an option in NL-only leagues, but owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options.

Wed, 25 Mar 2015 09:53:04 -0700

San Diego Padres SP Brandon Morrow (finger) will have his start Thursday, March 26, pushed back due to a blister.

Fantasy Tip: Morrow ($3,000, 6.0% of your cap) is a low-end flyer with some promise in PETCO Park on FantasyScore.
