ESPN.com reports Kansas City Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil was furious after WR Dameane Douglas (leg) suffered what appears to be a severe lower leg injury when Minnesota Vikings CB Rushen Jones hit him during practice. Vermeil let loose with his words, hollering at a Minnesota trainer that the Vikings should take a shotgun and "shoot (Jones) in the head." According to the report, several neutral observers didn't think Jones' play was malicious, simply aggressive.

According to the Associated Press, Kansas City Chiefs WR Dameane Douglas (knee) was injured in a joint practice against the Minnesota Vikings, after Vikings CB Rushen Jones threw Douglas to the ground while tackling him. The severity of the injury is not yet known.

According to John Clayton of ESPN the only Philadelphia Eagles player to miss practice today was backup WR Dameane Douglas, who has a quad injury. Reserve S Terrence Carroll sprained his left knee toward the end of practice and had to go for tests. Rookie RB Correll Buckhalter returned to practice today. He's had a sprained AC joint and is listed as questionable.

Phil Sheridan reports for the Philadelphia Inquirer Philadelphia Eagles reserve WR Dameane Douglas, who aggravated his bruised thigh last Sunday, was the only player who didn't practice Wednesday. LB Mike Caldwell (calf), DT Corey Simon (groin), and RB Correll Buckhalter (shoulder) practiced, but were somewhat limited because of their injuries.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said LB Mike Caldwell (strained calf), WR Dameane Douglas (bruised quad), DT Corey Simon (strained groin) and S Rashard Cook (Achilles') are all day-to-day right now. The team is hopeful all will be able to practice on Wednesday. CB Troy Vincent, who spent the night in a Phoenix hospital due to dehydration, is fine and will return tomorrow.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports Philadelphia Eagles backup WR Dameane Douglas, still recovering from a quadriceps contusion, did not practice Friday, but he is listed as day-to-day. Starting OT Tra Thomas (groin) appears to be ready to go Sunday after practicing Friday. As previously reported, LB Jeremiah Trotter remains day-to-day after practicing yesterday. Coach Andy Reid said Trotter would make the trip to Arizona but did not know if he would play.

Mark Eckel, of the Trenton Times, reports for the Sporting News, that Philadelphia Eagles WR Na Brown's No. 3 receiver spot could be in jeopardy. Brown has dropped easy passes in each of the team's last two games and is not being as productive as the team would like. WR Dameane Douglas or rookie Freddie Mitchell could be given an opportunity to move up the charts if Brown continues to struggle.

The Times Picayune reports New Orleans Saints GM Randy Mueller is looking to upgrade at WR, via trade, free agency or the waiver wire. Some possibilities include Kevin Johnson (Cleveland), Ron Dugans (Cincinnati), Jerry Porter (Oakland), Chris Cole (Denver), Dameane Douglas (Philadelphia) and Todd Pinkston (Philadelphia). Reportedly the Cleveland Browns are willing to deal Johnson, for a third-round draft pick. The Saints brass remains concerned over injured WRs Albert Connell and Joe Horn. Haslett said if the Saints are going to succeed this season, Horn, Albert Connell, Willie Jackson and Robert Wilson have to stay healthy and contribute consistently.

Phil Sheridan reports for the Philadelphia Inquirer that WRs James Thrash and Todd Pinkston will line up as starters for the Philadelphia Eagles when mini-camp begins later today. Thrash, at the age of 26, is the oldest of the Eagles young group of receivers. WRs Freddie Mitchell, Gari Scott, Na Brown, Dameane Douglas, Elijah Thurmon and some undrafted rookie signees are also expected to see action on the field this weekend.
