The Trenton Times reports Philadelphia Eagles reserve MLB Barry Gardner suffered the only severe injury in Sunday's win. Gardner has a strained hamstring and is questionable for the Cardinals game this week. The three players who missed Sunday's game, RB Duce Staley, G John Welbourn, and WR Gari Scott, are all expected to practice tomorrow. DE Ndukwe Kalu reinjured his ankle, but it does not appear to be as serious as originally thought.

Doug Brzezinski replaced him. Other injuries included: CB Troy Vincent sprained a shoulder; backup WR Gari Scott sprained an ankle on special teams; and LB Ike Reese strained a hamstring. Rookie WR Freddie Mitchell (hamstring) and DE N.D. Kalu (ankle) were deactivated Sunday.

The Trenton Times reports Philadlephia Eagles DE Ndukwe Kalu now has a removable cast on his ankle. Coach Andy Reid is hoping to have him back for Sunday's season opener, but that's not likely. Starting OLB Ike Reese had to miss practice due to swollen eye and a concussion, but he's expected back tomorrow. CB Al Harris sat out yesterday's practice with back spasms. DB Jason Bostic (knee) and WR Gari Scott (shoulder) both returned to practice yesterday for the first time in over a week. Hank Fraley is now expected to be the starter at center for the injured Bubba Miller (on IR) with Jim Pyne backing him up.

Coach Andy Reid said there was a possibility Montgomery could be placed on injured reserve. With DBs Jason Bostic (knee) and William Hampton (rib) also hurting, the team may have to hang on to all the defensive backs on the roster for Thursday's game. The Eagles are also shorthanded at WR due to injuries. Freddie Mitchell sat out practice because of tightness in his hamstring. Gari Scott (shoulder) and Scott Keys (knee) did some work, but do not appear to be ready to play in a game. The injuries may force the team not to cut any WRs at this time.

WR Gari Scott will be hard pressed to win a roster spot if he can't play in this week's pre-season finale. "I was very excited to see him this training camp, and it was unfortunate that he was nicked up," coach Andy Reid said. CB Jason Bostic did not practice because of swelling in his knee. Rookie S Julian Jones, placed on IR earlier in the week, is scheduled to have surgery Tuesday on his shoulder.

Philadelphia Eagles.com reports DE Ndukwe Kalu is now expected to miss at least two weeks with his high ankle sprain injury. Kalu was seen Saturday hobbling around the NovaCare Complex on metal crutches and wearing a bulky cast. Kalu’s injury means rookie Derrick Burgess will likely play a bigger role in the defensive line rotation. OT Jon Runyan (knee) missed practice on Saturday, but should return to the field this week. WR Gari Scott (shoulder) returned to practice Saturday, albeit without pads. He ran and did ball drills. WR Scott Keys continued to rehabilitate a knee injury. Keys ran sprints during practice on a knee that is still sore.

Phil Sheridan reports for the Inquirer Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR Kenny Mitchell pulled a hamstring during Saturday's mini-camp practice. WR Gari Scott (hamstring) returned to practice on Saturday. OL Doug Brzezinski did some long-snapping at mini-camp. Brzezinski said he would get some work at center in the next mini-camp. He said he's willing to work anywhere to improve his chances of playing time. Offensive coordinator Rod Dowhower has been impressed with Mitchell in mini-camp. Dowhower said WR Todd Pinkston has improved since his rookie season of 2000.
