Cincinnati Reds SP Johnny Cueto tossed his third career shutout against the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday, April 16, by striking out a career-high 12 hitters and giving up just three hits. He moves to 1-2 on the season.
Fantasy Tip: Cueto's downfall has been his injuries. But when healthy, his ground-ball prowess and dominance are excellent. That's what you saw today with him hitting all of his spots with all of his pitches. A new and improved delivery could help him stay healthy all year, too.

Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price asked SP Johnny Cueto to modify his delivery this spring to shorten the extreme twisting motion which turns his back to hitters on the mound. "There are times when he can get away from that. … There are times when he can get so dramatic in the turn, that it creates a more difficult time to repeat the mechanics. He's coming off a lat strain and a history of some shoulder fatigue and things of that nature. We're trying to make it easier for him to repeat the delivery," Price said.
