Updating previous reports, the Chicago Sun-Times reports Chicago Bears S Damon Moore is likely to face another suspension for violating the league’s drug policy after pleading guilty to a charge of drunken driving stemming from a Jan. 4 incident. Sentencing is next Friday.

The Sun Times reports Chicago Bears S Damon Moore is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin County (Ohio) Municipal Court on Thursday on charges of drunken driving. According to police, Moore's blood-alcohol level was 0.18, nearly twice the legal limit in Ohio. As a member of the NFL's drug program, Moore could face serious consequences. "I'm very disappointed in hearing the news," GM Jerry Angelo said. "I don't have all the details, but from what I've heard, it doesn't sound good. The most disappointing thing is we understand he has some issues, and we're trying to be understanding because he's a good football player. But there comes a point when a guy has to understand he is accountable for what he does not only on the field, but off the field."

The Chicago Tribune reports Chicago Bears S Damon Moore (knee), who is on the PUP list, plans to begin practicing next week. The Bears will have three weeks from when Moore begins practice to decide whether to put him on injured reserve, cut him or add him to the active roster. Chicago wants to make sure his playing shape and weight are where they need to be before getting him on the field.

John Mullin, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears S Damon Moore (knee) remains out of training camp. His chances of making the team appear to be slipping away. Head coach Dick Jauron said Moore definitely had the opportunity to grab a roster spot but by not being with the team he’s unable to do that.

Moore tore the ACL in his left knee while playing with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game late last year.

Allen Wilson of the Buffalo News, reports for the Sporting News, the Buffalo Bills remain interested in signing free agent S Damon Moore (Eagles). In fact, they visited with him again last week. Moore is coming off a serious knee Bills director of football operations Tom Modrak, who worked with Moore in Philadelphia, should help the Bills in their attempt to sign Moore. An earlier report of Moore getting ready to sign with the Redskins appears to have been premature.

Buffalo Bills.com reports free agent S Damon Moore (Eagles) told the media his rehab from his torn ACL is on schedule. He has some scar tissue he needs to have removed. He believes he'll be ready to play right after training camp, maybe in September. Today's visit to Buffalo was his first, but he may stop by Chicago next. He thinks teams are staying away from him until June or July whent they can see where he is at with his rehab. He thinks he can contribute to the Bills defense, if they decide to sign him.

As noted, Moore suffered a torn ACL in the NFC Championship game. "Damon Moore's original contract has expired," said Eagles President Joe Banner. "The team's medical information is that Damon Moore will not be physically able to play this coming season, or at least be healthy enough for them not to worry." "All we are saying is, 'Your contract expired, you're out for the year, so we're not offering you a new contract.'" Moore will now be, as reported earlier, an unrestricted free agent March 1.

Moore said the coaches thought he wouldn’t be able to play after tearing his ACL. Moore said he will be able to play as well as he ever had. He will be an unrestricted free agent.

S Damon Moore, who would have gotten more, but tore his ACL in the NFC Championship Game is likely to get the same offer. The team faces tougher decisions on FB Cecil Martin and projected starting SS Rashard Cook. If both are low-tendered the Eagles would only receive a sixth-round draft pick as compensation. The first-round tender of $1.2 million might be too high for either player.

Moore will need to undergo surgery to repair his knee and head coach Andy Reid said it will be a challenge for Moore to be healthy in time for training camp. Moore was scheduled to become a restricted free agent in March and Reid said it's definitely something the team will need to address when they begin their evaluations.

DT Corey Simon (stinger) suffered a stinger during the game but was able to return. SS Damon Moore (knee) will undergo an MRI test Monday.
