The Associated Press reports New York Giants WR Taye Biddle (hand, leg) is recovering from gunshot wounds to his hand and leg after getting shot while visiting family in his hometown Decatur, Ala. Decatur police Biddle was shot Sunday, Jan. 18, outside a residence and was treated and released from a hospital. Police said there was no evidence Biddle provoked or caused the shooting. The shooting was first reported by The Huntsville Times.

Charles Chandler, of the Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers WR Taye Biddle has not received many repetitions during the team's summer camp. He has occasionally flashed potential, but wide receivers coach Richard Williamson acknowledged Biddle faces challenges to make the team. Williamson said, "He's got to work on his route-running techniques and just catching up and being aware of what we're doing. We throw a lot of stuff (at rookies). Sometimes he gets muddled. Each day we usually put a little bit more in, and you just add to the muddy water. That part of it, he's got to get weeded out and be able to work on his techniques."
