Marky Billson, of the Intelligencer, reports Pittsburgh Steelers rookie free agent S Mike Lorello has his sights set on earning a spot on the team's final roster at training camp. Lorello knows he's facing an uphill climb. Listed ahead of him on the Steelers' depth chart is not only All-Pro S Troy Polamalu, but talented veteran S Mike Logan. He's trying to play a little catch-up by studying the notes he took at the Steelers' minicamp in May with an eye toward the start of preseason camp later this month in Latrobe, Pa. Other teams were interested in Lorello after the NFL Draft and one team, the Chicago Bears, wanted Lorello to play linebacker.

Teresa Valley, of Steelers.com, reports Pittsburgh Steelers FS Mike Lorello, who was signed as an undrafted rookie by the team recently, is happy to have landed with his new team. The Steelers have a history of successful players who were undrafted, including RB Willie Parker, LB James Harrison and FB Dan Kreider, and Lorello feels that he can be the newest addition to the club.
