The Philadelphia Eagles announced Thursday, May 29, that WR Bill Sampy (ankle) underwent successful surgery on his left ankle, which was fractured and dislocated during the team's offseason workout Tuesday, May 27. The surgery was performed by Dr. Steve Raikin, who is a foot and ankle specialist from The Rothman Institute at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.

"This is my second season and I'm getting used to the offense a little bit. They're kind of moving me around in different positions. Last year my main position was the X receiver, but I'm playing a little bit in the slot, so it's cool getting a little bit more comfortable," Sampy said.
