Jones, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said the team targeted RB Correll Buckhalter during the offseason because he can be a multidimensional player for the team. He can succeed in a role as a traditional running back and also help in the passing game as a blocker or a receiving back. "His body is young," McDaniels said. "He just might be, as a matter of fact, I think he is, our fastest back. He's got a great burst and he's got a great long speed," McDaniels said.

However, he still does not know what his role will be within the offense. After being selected No. 12 overall, he will probably get a lot of touches. Moreno has been running behind RBs LaMont Jordan and Correll Buckhalter in practice. Moreno said he is just learning and is trying to find his place with the team. He is learning the playbook, so practices are starting to slow down for him because he understands the offense better. By training camp, Moreno should be ready to move up the depth chart. He plans to keep working on pass protection, catching the ball, running routes and reading defenses.

"I want to apologize to Correll Buckhalter and Keita Crespina for any personal or professional embarrassment I may have caused them. I was coerced and manipulated into making a statement implicating these two gentlemen as purchasers of marijuana, which they are not."

Agent J.R. Rickert said, "When I found out, I talked to Correll, who said to me there is absolutely no validity to the allegation that was made. He did not purchase drugs from this individual or speak to this individual on the phone."

Schaefer, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports Denver Broncos RB Correll Buckhalter has been named by a Delaware County prosecutor as among the reported clients of an alleged drug dealer during opening arguments of a trial. Deputy District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland said that Styles N. Beckles had told police that he sold drugs to pro athletes, which included Buckhalter. No charges have been filed against Buckhalter.
