Updating previous reports, the New York Times reports New York Jets PK Doug Brien is leading the place-kicking competition with PKs Danny Kight and Clay Rush because of his accuracy, according to special-teams coach Mike Westhoff.

Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports the Arizona Cardinals will bring in some PKs for workouts on Monday. K Danny Kight and J.R. Jenkins have been invited in. The Cardinals are looking for insurance because PK Bill Gramatica tore his ACL a year ago.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Baltimore Ravens will not offer tender offers to restricted free agents FB Obafemi Ayanbadejo, PK Danny Kight and LB Brad Jackson. All three are now unrestricted free agents.

The Washington Post reports Baltimore Ravens PK Matt Stover tested the strained quadriceps muscle in his right leg today for the first time this week and said he should be fine for field goals and extra points during Sunday's game. "Normal strength," he said, "up to 44 yards into the wind. There's still some pain in there, but I've dealt with that before and I should be ready." The team is expecting newly signed K Danny Kight to help the team's kickoff coverage team with his longer kickoffs.

As an update to this morning's story, John Clayton reports for ESPN the Baltimore Ravens are expected to sign one of the three kickoff specialists that worked out for the team earlier today. The candidates are Steve Lindsay, Jaret Holmes and Danny Kight.

John Clayton reports for ESPN Baltimore Ravens PK Matt Stover may have a minor leg injury that caused the team to look for a kickoff specialist. Jaret Holmes, Danny Kight and Steve Lindsay were summoned for a Thursday workout. If one of those were signed, it would be for kickoffs only. That means the Stover injury cannot be that serious.

The Indianapolis Star reports Indianapolis Colts P Hunter Smith is excited about his opportunity to now be the team's kickoff specialist as well. "I'm excited about doing it,' Smith said. "I really feel I can excel at it if I work at it." K Danny Kight, just relased, had a good season kicking off last year. However, the team decided over the weekend it could no longer justify reserving a roster spot for a player who does nothing but kick off.
