New York Giants OT David Diehl said Friday, May 4, that he is uncertain where he'll line up in 2012. OT William Beatty (eye) is back from a detached retina, and looking to compete at left tackle. OT James Brewer is a candidate at right tackle, while OG Kevin Boothe is making a case for a full-time job. In addition, OTs Matt McCants and Brandon Mosley were drafted, and enter the picture as prospects. "People are asking, 'Are you worried about your job security?', Diehl said. "This isn't the first time they've drafted somebody at my position and it definitely won't be the last time."

New York Giants C David Baas (headaches) was a late scratch in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers due to headaches. OG Kevin Boothe moved to center, with OL Jim Cordle serving as the team's extra lineman. OG Mitch Petrus made his first NFL start at left guard in place of Boothe.

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin did not name a replacement for OT William Beatty (eye), who is out for Week 12. OG David Diehl is expected to slide over to left tackle with reserve lineman OL Kevin Boothe stepping in at left guard. "Nothing's been declared yet," Diehl said Friday. "I've been playing some (left guard) during practice, playing next to Boothe, next to OL Stacy Andrews as well. This is nothing new for me. This is part of being a guy who can play multiple positions."

The New York Giants have not ruled out C David Baas (knee), and he is still holding out hope he can play in Week 9 against the New England Patriots. Baas said he'll test the injury Saturday, Nov. 5. "That'll be our gauge," Baas said. "If I can go, I'm going to go." If Baas is ruled out, OG Kevin Boothe is expected to sliding into the starting lineup.
