Pittsburgh Steelers OT Willie Colon said during a radio interview that he will be moving from right tackle to left guard this season. He said he is fine with the move and just has to learn the terminology. Colon indicated he and OG David DeCastro will both be used as pulling guards during plays.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said the team is concerned that WR Emmanuel Sanders and OT Willie Colon have not been able to stay healthy over the last few seasons. Tomlin said the team can't count of the injuries to stop happening.

Pittsburgh Steelers OT Willie Colon restructured his contract for the upcoming season in order to ease the team's salary cap concerns. $3.8 million of his $4.5 million 2012 contract has been prorated over four years. Pittsburgh still remains $10 million over the cap, however. QB Ben Roethlisberger and LB James Harrison are both open to restructuring their contracts, too.

Pittsburgh Steelers OT Willie Colon (triceps) underwent surgery to fix a torn triceps muscle Tuesday, Sept. 13, and he will miss "an extended period of time to say the least," according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Colon is expected to be placed on Injured Reserve.
