He also has 134 career postseason points, passing former San Francisco 49ers WR Jerry Rice for third-place all-time in NFL history.

Updating a previous item, the agent for Philadelphia Eagles PK David Akers dismissed claims that his client was distracted by off-the-field issues when he missed two crucial field goals in the team's playoff loss, according to ESPN.com. "It's nothing major," agent Jerrold Colton said. "David is not using anything going on in his life as an excuse for those two misses. It's a private family health concern and we hope nothing major." Colton would not be more specific.

Philadelphia Eagles PK David Akers (personal) is dealing with "a family health matter," according to a source close to the situation, reports Tim McManus, of the Philadelphia Sports Daily. "I don't want to put him out there, but he's been going through a lot this week," SS Quintin Mikell said. "He has some stuff going on. And for him to even be out here was big. He fought through a lot today and this week." Mikell did not want to elaborate, and Akers' agent, Jerrold Colton, said that his client is a private man and would not want the details put out there. Akers struggled in the team's playoff loss, missing two field goal attempts.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Tuesday, Dec. 29, that PK David Akers, DE Trent Cole, WR DeSean Jackson, OT Jason Peters, CB Asante Samuel and FB Leonard Weaver have been named to the 2010 NFC Pro Bowl team. Jackson is believed to be the first player in NFL history to be selected at both wide receiver and kick returner in the same season, according to the NFL.
