Cynthia Burton, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports former NFL OT Jon Runyan is planning to formally announce his candidacy for Congress Thursday, March 18. Runyan will run in the Third Congressional District, which runs through Burlington and Ocean Counties in New Jersey. Runyan will run for the Republican Party.

Adam Schefter, of ESPN, reports the San Diego Chargers are stepping up their efforts to sign free-agent OT Jon Runyan (Eagles) with OT Jeromey Clary (leg) injured, according to a source close to the situation. Runyan is traveling to San Diego Tuesday, Nov. 24, to try and finalize a contract.
